asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state, in tabular form, the imports of potatoes for the years 1955, 1956, and 1957, showing from which countries the imports have come, and whether the imports are of ware or new potatoes.

Details of United Kingdom imports of fresh potatoes in the years 1955 and 1956 are published in Volume II of the "Annual Statement of Trade of the United Kingdom with Commonwealth and Foreign countries, 1956" to which I would refer my hon. Friend. The figures for 1957 are as follows:
