(2) whether he will give an estimate of the variation in accident rate before and after the provision of a roundabout.
§ Mr. NugentGood street lighting and the provision of roundabouts, at suitable places, both reduce the risk of accidents. Investigations made by the Road Research Laboratory show various rates of accident reduction in certain cases where such improvements have been made. As local conditions vary so much, it would be difficult to give any reliable overall estimates of expected reductions in accident rates which might result from these measures.
