Jegerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he is aware of the distress that has been caused by his refusal to allow more than 50 houses to be built this year by the Goole Town Council, although its plans were for 169 dwellings, as part of its slum-clearance proposals; and whether he will reconsider his decision.
§ Mr. H. BrookeThe council's proposals would have involved starting in one year nearly half its entire slum clearance programme for five years, and to have allowed it to do this would have been unfair to authorities with greater and more urgent needs.
