§ Mr. Malcolm MacPhersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland to what extent the evidence in his possession shows that Scottish industry still needs to be diversified by the introduction of light industries.
§ Mr. MaclayIn spite of the fundamental strength of the traditional Scottish industries the Government recognise that Scotland still needs further industrial development and diversification. It is the aim of distribution of industry policy to encourage new industrial projects of suitable types to settle in those areas which most require them.
