§ Sir A. Bossomasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in view of the general lack of knowledge and control of the solids-not-fat milk test, if he will arrange that milk quality and rejection should be on butter-fat standard only, the freezing test being used to cover adulteration.
§ Mr. John HareI am advised that representatives of both milk producers and distributors on the Joint Milk Quality Control Committee are generally satisfied with the present arrangements for ascertaining the percentage of solids-not-fat in milk. It would not be in the interest of human nutrition to ignore the solids-not-fat content of milk and to test only for butterfat.
