§ 71. Mr. Roy Jenkinsasked the President of the Board of Trade why front axles for four-wheel-drive vehicles cannot be exported to the Soviet bloc and China when they are required as replacements for vehicles previously supplied to those countries; and when he proposes to simplify the embargo list by removing such anomalies.
§ Mr. ErrollWe are not refusing to licence components for light four-wheel drive vehicles of the type which United Kingdom firms have latterly been exporting to the Sovietbloc and to China. The applications which we have rejected concerned axles for more powerful vehicles of a type which is still subject to embargo.
