§ 49. Mr. Haleasked the Minister of Labour if he will state to the most recent date for which figures are available the number of males and females unemployed, showing the figures for the corresponding date in 1957 for purposes of comparison.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodAt 12th May, 1958, the numbers of unemployed persons on the registers of employment exchanges in Great Britain were 309,416 males and 138,140 females compared with 214,978 males and 98,494 females at 13th May, 1957.
