§ Mr. Robert Cookeasked the Secretary of State for Air whether the Bristol Bloodhound surface-to-air guided weapon is now on order for the Royal Air Force for operational deployment in the United Kingdom air defence system.
Mr. WardYes. As foreshadowed in paragraph 33 of the Memorandum accompanying the Air Estimates, trials of the Bloodhound weapons system will start shortly at North Coates. The weapon will subsequently be deployed operationally in the United Kingdom.
