Mr. Lewisasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he will take all necessary steps to promote individual ownership of property on the widest possible scale; whether he will frame his policies so as to encourage persons of modest means to acquire such property; whether he will give this highest priority; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. H. BrookeI welcome the hon. Member's rejection of Socialism and his wish to encourage individual ownership of property on the widest scale. I agree with him that this is most desirable. I shall bear it in mind in all my consideration of policies.
