§ 64. Mr. E. L. Mallalieuasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to hold a plebiscite in that part of the Cameroons administered by them, to ascertain the wishes of the people as to their future; when it will be held; and what efforts will be made to co-ordinate their arrangements with similar arrangements in that part of the Cameroons administered by France.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydAs I informed last year's Nigerian Constitutional Conference, before Nigeria becomes independent the peoples of the British Cameroons 7W will have to say freely what their wishes are as to their future. The means of ascertaining their wishes and the timing will be arranged in consultation with the United Nations and will have regard to constitutional developments in Nigeria and the British Cameroons.
