§ Mr. Malcolm MacPhersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many prosecutions for salmon poaching in the Forth salmon fishery district took place in the 12 months ending on the latest convenient date; in how many of these cases cymag was used; and whether he will give the corresponding figures for each of the two preceding periods of 12 months.
§ Mr. Maclay, pursuant to his reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 21st July, 1958; Vol. 592, c. 16], supplied the following information:
The number of prosecutions for salmon poaching in the Forth salmon fishery district in the year ended 30th June, 1958, was eight; in two of the cases evidence 203W was led that cymag had been used. The corresponding figures for 1956–57 were twelve and one; and for 1955–56, nineteen and nil.
