HL Deb 31 July 1958 vol 211 cc653-4WA
THE EARL OF MANSFIELD

asked Her Majesty's Government if they are aware that although single second-class sleeping berths have been in use for some four years on the London-Edinburgh line none has yet been introduced between London and Perth, on which latter service the first-class sleeping berths also are almost always of obsolete type, much inferior to those between London and Edinburgh; and if they will request British Railways to look into, and remedy, this state of affairs.

THE LORD MANCROFT

My Lords, the provision of these services is a matter for the British Transport Commission, and I have therefore asked the Chairman of the Commission to be good enough to examine the noble Earl's representations and to write to him about them.
