§ 7. Mr. J. Patonasked the Postmaster-General what plans he has to extend the inadequate public accommodation at the main post office in Howardsgate, Welwyn Garden City, in view of the rapid growth of the numbers using it.
§ Mr. K. ThompsonWe intend to extend the public office as soon as possible but, to make room for the extension, the sorting office must be moved into a new building which we are going to build in Bessemer Street. All this will take three or four years to complete, and I am considering whether there are any short term measures we can take to improve matters meantime.
