§ Mr. Nairnasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the estimated cost of making good the damage recently caused by fire to the Pig Progeny Testing Station, in course of erection near Stirling; and how it is proposed to meet it.
§ Mr. MaclayThe cost is estimated at £10,000. As these buildings are the responsibility of Her Majesty's Government until they are taken over by the Pig Progeny Testing Board, the cost of making good the damage will be charged to the Vote of the Department of Agriculture for Scotland. A Supplementary Estimate to cover this expenditure will be submitted to Parliament in due course. In the meantime, payment will be met from the Civil Contingencies Fund.
