§ 80. Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what criticisms have been made of the financial affairs of the Bunyoro Native Government by the Uganda Protectorate Government; and on what evidence adverse reports were based.
§ Mr. ProfumoThe Bunyoro Native Government have been criticised for inefficient and inadequate control of expenditure; unauthorised expenditure over approved estimates; inefficient assessment and collection of taxes; and the unco-operative and at times irresponsible attitude of Treasury staff. Criticisms have been based on regular inspections by the staff of the Provincial Administration and Audit Department, and by auditing of accounts.
