§ Mr. SimonIn his Budget Speech on 15th April, my right hon. Friend said: "I am confirming to the Capital Issues Committee and to the banks that the Government would not wish any projects for sound development in areas where unemployment is substantially above the average to be held back by lack of credit or finance". This statement received considerable publicity at the time and subsequently, and I do not think that further action by the Government is required to bring it to the notice of bank customers.
