§ Mr. SimonAccording to a report on Applications for Admission to Universities, which was commissioned by the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals and published in 1957, of the 36,003 persons who applied for admission in 1955–56, 9,557, or roughly one-quarter, were women, of whom 6,325 were admitted in 1955–56 out of a total of 22,462 admissions. I understand there is no information about the present position.
