§ Lord John HopeAdvisory and demonstration work on land improvement is undertaken by the College Advisory Services and grants to assist landowners and farmers to reclaim and improve land are available under a number of schemes. With regard to the complementary development of forestry and farming, the joint surveys carried out by the Forestry Commission and the Department of Agriculture, which have now covered some 3 million acres of land in the Highlands, will help to further such development.
