§ Mr. Lennox-BoydDuring the second half of 1957 an average of 1,130 Kikuyu were detected each month entering Nairobi illegally; how many were seeking work cannot be accurately determined. An average of 689 were repatriated each month to their home districts, 11,000 Kiambu Kikuyu have already been found employment in Nairobi, but systematic efforts to provide settled employment for these people will be frustrated if they produce a wandering problem with which the authorities are given insufficient power to deal.
