§ 99. Mr. K. Robinsonasked the Minister of Education if he will publish the results of the survey of art teaching requirements recently carried out at his request; and if he will make a statement regarding the future of existing art schools.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydReviews in 1955 and 1956 resulted in proposals by my Department for adjusting the organisation of full-time art courses more closely to current demand. The numbers of schools running courses leading to the Intermediate Certificate in Art and Crafts and the National Diploma in Design have been reduced from 164 and 139 respectively to 135 and 107. Action arising out of these reviews is now very largely complete.
