HC Deb 21 January 1958 vol 580 c137W
10. Lady Tweedsmuir

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will institute a public inquiry on the proposed abolition of the primary departments of the Aberdeen Grammar School and the Girls' High School in view of the strength of public opposition to this proposal and in view of the close voting on this issue in Aberdeen Town Council.

Mr. N. Macpherson

My right hon. Friend is at present considering, in the light of his information about educational provision in Aberdeen, both the Education Authority's proposal and such detailed representations as have so far been received from those who have protested against it. Having done so, he will decide Whether a public inquiry should be held.
