HC Deb 21 January 1958 vol 580 c162W
Mr. F. Noel-Baker

asked the Postmaster-General what steps his officers are taking to improve radio and television reception in the area of the Penhill Estate at Swindon.

Mr. K. Thompson

Satisfactory reception of television and V.H.F. sound radio should be obtainable in this area from the B.B.C.'s Wenvoe station, providing suitable receiving sets and aerials are used. The Home and Third Programmes on the medium wave and the Light Programme on the long wave should similarly be satisfactory. Swindon is not, however, within range of the existing I.T.A. stations. Complaints of electrical interference have not been numerous. The Post Office is always willing to investigate in such cases.
