§ Mr. Bennasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps are being considered by Her Majesty's Government to co-operate with the Secretary-General of the United Nations in accordance with the resolution on freedom of information of 11th December, 1957, to organise seminars on freedom of information under the programme of advisory services in the field of human rights.
§ Mr. Ian HarveyIn the first instance it will be for the Secretary-General of the United Nations to consider to what extent, and in what regions, seminars on this subject might usefully be organised within the limited resources available for the programme of advisory services in the field of human rights. Any approach by the Secretary-General to Her Majesty's Government on this subject would, of course, receive careful consideration.
