§ Mr. Patrick Maitlandasked the Postmaster-General what representations he has received about the inadequacy of the postal, telegraph and telephone facilities in the new town of East Kilbride, which now has a population of more than 20,000.
§ Mr. MarplesThe Development Corporation is pressing for the early provision of a Crown Post Office. It is hoped to make a start on the building in the autumn at the latest; in the meantime urgent consideration is being given to the provision of a temporary building. A new telephone exchange will be opened in April, when most of those wanting telephone service will be connected.
