§ Mr. Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why, in view of the Government's request for wage restraint, he has agreed to increase the salaries of coroners in Middlesex by £250 per annum; and whether he is aware that, with their £1,050 per annum expenses, this will mean that these coroners will be receiving £3,400 per annum.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerMy approval is not required when a coroner's salary is fixed by agreement between the coroner and the local authority.
