§ Mr. J. AmeryA scheme for modernising a number of barracks at Tidworth has been in progress since 1949, and five barracks, providing up-to-date accommodation for over 3,000 men were completed in September, 1957, at a cost of about £2½ million. Planning for a further two barracks is well advanced, and work on them is expected to begin towards the end of this year for completion in 1960 at a cost of a further £1½ million.
