HC Deb 11 February 1958 vol 582 cc39-40W
113. Lady Tweedsmuir

asked the Minister of Health whether he will give the names of the United Kingdom representatives to the seminar on psychiatric treatment of criminals and delinquents organised by the World Health Organisation at Copenhagen; whether there is Scottish representation; and whether observers are also being sent.

Mr. Walker-Smith

The World Health Organisation allocated four places in this seminar to participants from this country. After consultation with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland, I have made the following nominations:

  • Dr. Roper, Principal Medical Officer. H.M. Prison, Wakefield.
  • Dr. Simpson, Consultant Psychiatrist, H.M. Prison, Wormwood Scrubs.
  • Mr. Morrison, Principal Psychologist, H.M Prison, Wormwood Scrubs.
  • Dr. Inch, Medical Adviser to the Scottish Prison and Borstal Service.

The invitation did not extend to observers and none is being sent.
