§ Mr. Lewisasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he is aware that Ilford Council has issued a statement that it is unable to assist in any way 200 families who have received notice of eviction in October; and whether he will make a special financial grant available to this council to enable it to assist in the rehousing of these 200 families.
§ Mr. H. BrookeI have received a letter from the council. I understand that it wishes to make representations about its difficulties in lending money to decontrolled tenants for house purchase. When I receive these representations, I may be able to suggest some means of helping the council in these difficulties.
