Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware of the need for slum clearance and reconstruction in Lagos, Ibadan, and other Nigerian cities and towns; what representations he has received from the Federal Government and the Regional 204W Governments for financial assistance in solving these problems; and what reply he has given in each case.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydI have received no such representations. Measures that are being carried out or planned in certain areas will be financed from local and other resources which are already available for this purpose.
