HC Deb 04 February 1958 vol 581 c156W
90. Mr. Hornby

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will make a statement about the strike in Nassau, Bahamas.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

As I said in my reply to Questions on 30th January, the general strike has ended and work, where available, was resumed that morning. Owing to the absence of visitors, the major hotels were not able to re-open for a few days, but they are expected to re-open as soon as possible. Government employees are all back at work. The situation is now rapidly returning to normal.
