§ Mr. NeaveNew safety performance regulations will come into force on 31st March, 1960. Before that date a revised and expanded performance schedule will be issued.

Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if, before he gave permission for the Boeing 707 aircraft to land at London Airport, he satisfied himself it was fitted with a silencer; and to what extent his approval was made conditional on an improvement in the silencing method.
§ Mr. NeaveBefore allowing the Boeing 707 to use London Airport we were satisfied not only that a silencer was fitted but that the operating techniques to which we gave approval would reduce, as far as was practicable, any disturbance which this aircraft might cause.
