§ Miss PittI am informed by the National Assistance Board that the number of weekly National Assistance grants was 1,637,000 at 25th November, 1958, compared with 1,700,000 a year before. The total cost of National Assistance grants in the six months to 30th September, 1958, was£57,784,000.
