asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) what steps he is taking to secure a tenant for the Government-owned factory at Cymmer which has been idle for two years;

(2) what steps he is taking to secure tenants for the Government-owned factories in Maesteg which have been idle since July last.

As my right hon. Friend told the hon. Member last July, all our Regional Controllers were endeavouring to find suitable tenants. Since then particulars have been given to a number of firms and several of these, in company with our officers, have inspected the premises, but unfortunately without result. Our Controllers will continue their efforts.
