§ Mr. Langford-Holtasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance under what circumstances applications for pension which have been rejected by a war pensions committee can be reconsidered; what weight is given to the opinion of such committees; and upon what basis members of such committees are selected.
Mr. VaneWar Pensions Committees are made up of persons appointed by my right hon. Friend after consultation with various interests representative of different sections of the community, including disabled ex-Service men and members of voluntary associations engaged in the care of such men or their families. The committees act in an advisory capacity and their recommendations are given the fullest consideration. It is always open to an applicant whose complaint concerning refusal of pension has not been supported 143W by his local War Pensions Committee to represent his case afresh to my Department.
