§ 46. Mr. Kimballasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, as representing the Lord President of the Council, why in their recent report the Nature Conservancy continue to show a loss on their catering at Moor House Field Station and Anancaun Field Station; and what further steps are to be taken to prevent this loss in future years.
§ Mr. John HareThese two remote field stations form an essential part of the Nature Conservancy's scientific and research organisation, and the losses on catering are part of the cost of running them. The Nature Conservancy are, however, still endeavouring to reduce their catering losses at the Field Stations and have obtained the advice of the Treasury Chief Catering Adviser, whose recommendations are now being considered.
