§ 32. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement of his progress towards solving the problems of delinquency both in and out of prison; and, in particular, what steps he is taking by general and technical education in prisons to help them towards good citizenship on their release from prison.
§ Mr. R. A. Butler: Idealt with a number of these matters in the speech which I made on 31st October during the debate on the Address, and I hope to have an opportunity shortly of doing so more fully. As to the second part of the Question, I would refer the hon. and learned Member to the Annual Reports of the Prison Commissioners.
