HC Deb 09 December 1958 vol 597 c32W
91. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies to what extent the tourist trade of Malta has improved in recent months and years.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I regret that there are no reliable figures distinguishing tourists from other visitors. The total number of visitors to Malta has risen by about 20 per cent, over the past three years and is at present running at an annual rate of over 25,000. A Malta Government Tourist Board with full executive powers has recently been established to promote tourism.
