asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what has been the sum allocated for the Exchequer contribution in respect of retirement pensions in each of the years 1954, 1955, 1956, and 1957.

Miss Pitt

The total Exchequer contribution for National Insurance, including retirement pensions, was £71, £86, £95 and £98 million, respectively.
