HC Deb 09 December 1958 vol 597 c27W
75. Mr. Coldrick

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs why he has declined to supply the Medical Officer of Health for Bristol with the whereabouts of the sources of various radioactive materials in the city.

Mr. Bevins

In supplying radioisotopes the Atomic Energy Authority act as a commercial concern and it is not normal practice to make known the full details of such transactions. The Department follows up deliveries and is able to ensure that any requisite statutory consent for disposal of waste is obtained from the appropriate authorities. My right hon. Friend has assured the Medical Officer of Health for Bristol that there is no danger to public health from disposals of radioactive waste in his area.
