§ 31. Mr. Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that a reduction or abolition of the fuel tax would assist the road passenger industry to reduce fares, thus reducing the cost of living and enabling the lower income group to spend more on consumer goods, thereby assisting to maintain national production and full employment; and whether he will consider removing this tax in his forthcoming Budget.
