In accordance with the provisions of the Employment and Training Act, 1948, responsibility for the central administration of the Service rests with the Central Youth Employment Executive, which is staffed by officers of my Department, the Ministry of Education and the Scottish Education Department. Ministerial 49W responsibility under the Act rests with my right hon. Friend, and the Executive is answerable to him.
