§ 79. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Education the number of schools where teachers have responsibility for ordering foodstuffs in connection with the school meals service.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydI have no precise information, but I understand that this practice is now uncommon. I should like to see it ended at all schools.
§ 81. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Education the number of schools in England and Wales, respectively, that provide a school meals service without any separate dining room facilities; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydI regret that this information is not available; but, as it is clearly uneconomic to provide a dining space which will be used for only a short time each day, it is a common practice to arrange that some part of the teaching or circulation space of a school should be used also for dining.
