HC Deb 04 December 1958 vol 596 c174W
Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will instruct his representatives attending the International Whaling Conference, which opened in London in November, to raise the question of ensuring that the destruction of whales is carried out as humanely as possible, and urge that the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling should be made an effective instrument to that end.

Mr. John Hare

This Conference ended last week and was concerned solely with the economic regulation of pelagic whaling in the Antarctic.
