HC Deb 04 December 1958 vol 596 c164W
72. Mr. Wade

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations whether he has a statement to make on the implementation of the recommendations in the Report of the Constitutional Committee set up by the Basuto National Council.

Mr. Alport

The two delegations have now had ten meetings at which there has been full and frank discussion on all the points arising on the proposed new Constitution. Good progress has been made. It is not at present possible to forecast when the discussions will be completed, as certain important points remain to be decided, but both delegations are anxious to bring the talks to an early and successful conclusion.
