HC Deb 02 December 1958 vol 596 c114W
105. Mr. J. Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what are the findings of the Committee of Inquiry into the Gwembe disturbances in Northern Rhodesia.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Copies of the Report of the Commission have been placed in the Library of the House. The conclusions and recommendations are summarised under 20 heads in Chapter XIII. Hon. Members will note with satisfaction that the Committee found that no adverse reflection upon the conduct of the police in relation to the Chisamu incident would be warranted and that the procedure adopted and applied to solve the problem of resettlement was wholly correct.
