§ Mr. Patrick Maitlandasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received in the past year from the East Kilbride Development 104W Corporation, from the district council, from tenants' or residents' organisations, or from individuals, about the provision of civic amenities, community centres, and the like; and whether he is now willing to consider such requests sympathetically.
§ Mr. MaclayThe district council has, in the past year, submitted a number of proposals for the provision of community recreational facilities at a total cost of £22,000. All these proposals have recently been approved. The Development Corporation is aware of the demand for more community centre facilities and proposes to submit proposals after consultation with the local authorities concerned.
