§ Mr. John HareHaving regard to the amount needed to meet claims for work approved in the previous year, I estimate that it will be possible to authorise Welsh highway authorities to undertake new work in the financial year 1958–59 on unclassified and unadopted roads under the Agriculture (Improvement of Roads) Act, 1955, to the value of about £80,000. Grants will vary between 65 per cent. and 85 per cent. of the cost of approved work; to date the estimated cost of new work approved in principle for five counties totals some £41,000 on which grant of some £31,000 would be payable.
§ Mr. Watkinsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will indicate the amount of money spent by each of the county councils in Wales upon schemes on unclassified and unadopted roads under the Agriculture (Improvement of Roads) Act, 1955; and what is the amount of grants made up to date.
