asked Her Majesty's Government when the promised Departmental Committee on Artificial Insemination of the Human will be set up.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT KILMUIR)

The terms of reference of the Committee are to beTo inquire into the existing practice of human artificial insemination and its legal consequences and to consider whether, taking account of the interests of individuals involved and of society as a whole, any change in the law is necessary or desirable.

I am glad to be able to inform the House that the noble Earl, the Earl of Feversham, has agreed to serve as chairman. The names of the other members of the Committee will be announced shortly.
