HC Deb 23 April 1958 vol 586 c81W
81. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Minister of Works if he will make a statement on the nature and extent of the recent finds, reported to him, of a prehistoric chamber in Orkney.

Mr. Hugh Molson

I assume that the hon. and learned Member is referring to the underground chamber at South Unigarth on the mainland of Orkney which was recently discovered by accident. I have arranged for the site to be investigated by my Inspector of Ancient Monuments in Scotland as soon as possible, after which I should be in a position to give definite information about the nature and extent of the contents.
