§ Mr. John HareThe Dogs Act, 1906, empowers the police to seize and detain stray dogs, and the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (Infected Areas Restrictions)82W Order, 1938, empowers local authorities and the police to deal similarly with dogs not kept under control as required by the Order. During outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease my veterinary officers maintain close touch with local authorities and the police on these and all other necessary precautions.
